Getting to grips with climate risks: participate now in developing scenarios

The Skoll Global Threats Fund and the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence are organising an online collaborative climate-security game – the Climate Risks CoLab from October 9 - November 17.

This initiative aims to structure a dialogue about how climate variability and change could elevate human security risks in the decade ahead. By tapping the collective intelligence of experts across geographies, disciplines, and sectors, the Climate Risks CoLab will generate a set of near-term scenarios that describe the potential human security consequences of climate variability and change. The CoLab is intended to be an iterative process, and is looking for input to further develop the Climate Risks CoLab to build a process that can effectively elevate awareness of system risks and assist practitioners managing climate risks in humanitarian, security, and other sectors. Following early input and testing from a multidisciplinary group, a beta process and associated online platform has been developed, which will be rolled out as a full pilot next month. The online scenario generation process will take place from October 9 - November 17. This interactive game will feed into one of the workshop sessions of the Planetary Security Conference 2017.

If you would like to participate, please send an email to Bessma Mourad (bmourad@skollglobalthreats.org) by October 3rd expressing your interest in participating in the Climate Risks CoLab. Please note that space is limited.
