Hot on the heels of this week’s Planetary Security Conference the UN Security Council will today discuss the steps that could be taken to address climate-related security risks by the UN system.
This year’s Planetary Security Conference changed the game on the issue of climate and security with the launch of The Hague Declaration. The conference – attended by 350 experts - came at the end of a year of ongoing and worsening political conflict and humanitarian crises.
Today the leading lights of the climate and security community have launched an unprecedented declaration to catalyse action in the field in front of 350 participants at the Planetary Security Conference.
