Rob Verheem

Rob Verheem is director at the Netherlands Commission for Environmental Assessment. In the Netherlands, this Commission has a legal mandate for quality review of impact assessments, at project (ESIA) and strategic level (SEA). Internationally, the Commission is involved in quality assurance and capacity development. Rob has 30 years of practice experience in ESIA and SEA, in developed and developing countries. Before, he worked at the European Commission and the Dutch Ministry of the Environment. He has published extensively, is visiting professor at the University of Liverpool and in 2004 won the Individual Award of the International Association for Impact Assessment.
