Prof. Dr. Vally Koubi

Vally Koubi is a Professor at CIS, ETH Zurich and the Department of Economics, University of Bern, Switzerland. She served as an expert reviewer for the IPCC AR5 and is a member of the UNEP GSPP Scientific Council. Her research examines a) the channels, namely economic conditions and migration, via which climatic changes lead to conflict; and b) treaty design characteristics that affect states’ ratification behavior. Her publications have appeared in, for example, International Organization, British Journal of Political Science, Climatic Change, Ecological Economics, Global Environmental Politics, Journal of Peace research, and World Development.
