During the conference several cartoons were drawn with reference to the broader theme of planetary security. A selection of these cartoons can now be viewed in a photo gallery. The drawings present an interesting impression of the topics which were discussed during the event. Moreover, they provide a more playful and creative perspective on planetary security as a whole.
Inspiration for the cartoons was found in the presentations and discussions that occurred during the plenary sessions and in several of the working groups. The cartoons all display different issues and possible solutions related to the field of planetary security. Examples of topics displayed are climate change, migration, resource management and safety.
Due to the fact that a sense of irony is incorporated in these drawings, they allow for a playful reflection on the conference and may even spark interesting discussions. Cartoonist Carolien Feldbrugge drew a large variety of cartoons of which eight drawings were selected.
