Mindful of the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security that encompasses the politico-military,
economic and environmental, and human dimensions, and taking into consideration the OSCE’s
contribution to conflict prevention as well as building and sustaining peace, this event will focus on
the application of the SDGs in the OSCE area. In particular, it will look at Goal 13 and the link
between climate change and security, Goal 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions, as well as
how the OSCE can enhance partnership with the UN in the spirit of Goal 17. It is worth noting that
these three goals will this year be the focus of a high-level review. This is a good opportunity to
profile the OSCE’s valuable contribution.
